July 19, 2008 the EWGA Metro Detroit Chapter had the Chapter Championship at Northville Hills Golf Club.  This year we had 28 gals playing golf, 18 playing competitively and hoping to forge on to the District Semi-Finals.

The Upper Mideast District Semi-Finals will be held at the Bristol Harbour Resort in Canandaigua, New York on August 16th.

Our members who make their mark on New York, will have the opportunity to proceed to the Championship Finals: A two-day, 36-hole event September 26-27, 2008 at The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club, Aloha, OR.

We wish all of our gals the best as they move forward representing the Metro Detroit Chapter of the EWGA!  Way to go, we're proud of each one of you!!!!

Below is a list of our gals placing in the tournament and forwarding on to the next level of competition:

3 Flight  Low Gross - Janet Conlon

4 Flight  Low Gross - Sarah Sparling
4 Flight  Low Net - Loni Grunz

When you see our gals, don't forget to give them a big thumbs up and a wish of luck as they forward on to the next level of competition.

Our scramble team declined to further in the competition, but give them a job well done for their efforts too:  Diane Lea, Liesa McDonald, Nancy Adams, Amanda Rossi.

Last but certainly, not least....give Patti Barr a ton of credit for a job well done for being CCD (Chapter Championship Director), her dedication and timely response required by AHQ (National EWGA) was a rewarding and challenging experience.  Thank you Patti for a job well done!!!

While our championship competition is over for this year at a chapter level. I would like to encourage every member to consider participating next year.  As you can see, the competition is flighted and handicapped.  It's you against the golf course!!  So, next year when we start announcing locations and deadlines, consider coming out and being a part of a great day.  If you truly don't want to compete, you can still come and play socially.  It is a great way to get to know your fellow members.
